...unless it was maybe learning to tie my shoes or my first day of school. Something like that I can comprehend, but being MARRIED for 20 years? Well, that just doesn't sit well with me. I think it's a great accomplishment, for sure, but I think I might having an issue with me age that didn't really occur to me until last night. It's always nice to begin your mid-life crisis on such a momentous occasion, don't you think? I'm kidding, this little trauma is merely a blip on my radar. I'll do what all good Garrity girls do when something like this happens. I'll block it! Here's the thing. I think of my parents as the age I am now. So therefore it is impossible for me to also be that age! In my mind, I think I'm like 25 or 27. 27 was a good year, I think. Come to think of it all years that have ended in 7 were good for me as I recall. So maybe I'll just live in my own little fantasy world and accept that I've been married for 20 years yet somehow I'm only 27 years old. Surely that is feasible, right?
Anyway, all my time issues aside, we had a really great anniversary! Wayne, in particular! His work day ended early. Then he came home and received two jerseys in the mail that he had ordered. Not only that, the guy he ordered them from sent him an extra one along with a note to thank him for his service! We had dinner at Ruth's Chris which as AMAZING, maybe the best steak I have ever had in my life. Still, I only ate half of it, because too much steak is a no-no for me. I also had some delicious French onion soup, which I always love! When there's that much cheese involved how can it be bad?! Well, now that I think of it, it can be bad. But it wasn't. Rose petals on the table, champagne, mini cupcakes for dessert...a very nice time. Oh, because I have to document nearly everything, here are the pics. Mini ones from my phone.
Afterwards, Wayne's excellent adventure continued when I dragged him all over Ala Moana looking for a certain color of skinny jeans! We ended up finding another present for another person, and I can't be specific here, but we wound up getting it for an excellent price! That was excellent for me too, but in this case it was Chief who was having more heartburn about the price than I was, so I'm adding that to his list of bonuses for the day. Then we found the chocolate covered coffee beans he's been looking for for weeks, so that was good for him. And to top it ALL off, we got that entire purchase for 25% off! Pretty excellent, yeah?
My night was capped off with our little squirrel monkey (aka Rhett) sleeping on my back like a little koala baby. Squirrel, monkey, koala...yes, I seem to think my baby is a wild animal. Anyway, since I spent the first 4 or 5 months of his life with him sleeping on my chest, it was pretty sweet that he still wanted to sleep on me, so I let him.
I'm so glad you two had a great anniversary. I can't believe you've been married for 20 years either. Crazy! Love you guys!

Twenty years is an awesome accomplishment. Congratulations you two.
Oh and so far I feel the same way you do about ages that end in seven.
I love the guy that gifted Wayne a jersey for his service.
