When I came home from work today I was wandering around looking for my house shoes when Jack came running in. He handed me a folded up note. It said, "To Mom, Hopefully you can get new ones". Folded up inside the note was $20. Jack proceeded to tell me that Giacomo had had an accident. ON my shoes. Giacomo rarely ever has accidents so his tummy must have not been feeling well. Jack explained that he had cleaned up the mess but had to throw my house shoes away. When I looked at him he started to cry because I guess he thought I would be mad at him. Instead, I was so taken with his thoughtfulness and generosity. I told him that in no way did I think he should give me his money and it wasn't his fault. I also let him know that I appreciated the thought behind what he did. That is just one sweet boy I have. I'm so proud of him!
Wayne and I just got back from errands. One of which was replacing the pooped on shoes. While we were out, I asked him, "Do we need anything from Costco?", because it was right across the street. Neither of us knew of anything, but I did know that I was running low on my uber-special margarita mix that they sell, so we decided to go in. $132 later, we had purchased about 10 items. None of which would fall into the "need" category, but possibly could go into the "didn't-know-we-needed-till-we-saw-them" category!
We're just getting back home around 7:30 and I'm already cutting it dangerously close to being up past my bedtime. Lately I haven't been able to make it past 8 o'clock or so. Actually, 8 might be a little on the late side for me! I can never remember which days my Korean soap operas come on. I don't watch American ones and I actually find them a bit ridiculous. But something about the Korean ones is a little bit interesting to me. Go figure! Anyway, last night when I got in bed and turned the t.v. on to fall asleep to, one of my favorite (yeah, I actually have a favorite) ones was coming on. I really wanted to watch it but about 20 minutes in I was too tired to hold my eyes open. With other shows if this happens I just "rest my eyes" as my grandmother used to say and listen. But, uh, somehow this doesn't work (I tried) with my Korean soap operas. Yeah, I don't speak Korean. And the English subtitles don't read themselves to me. Nice try Laura!
