My friend Greg brought these over last week when we hosted the fight at our house. OMG, stuff a jalapeno with something I like and bring it to me, I may be your best friend forever! These were freakin' awesome! I ran into him in the grocery store earlier in the week and he told me exactly how silly simple they are to make. Yes, I realize they may not look like the prettiest thing in the world, or maybe I'm just a messy stuffer, but you must make these!
Just cream cheese, sausage and cheese. I like really, really hot so I used hot sausage and pepper jack cheese. Cook the sausage and then mix the rest together, stuff the jalapeno halves and bake at 425 for about 20-25 minutes. I put it on broil at the end for about 5 minutes to brown the top a little bit.
In other news, I didn't sleep last night. I know that is hardly a shock, but since I had plans to get up at 2:30 for some Black Friday shopping it was especially annoying to me. Finally about 1:30 I just gave up and started getting ready. Good thing too, because the place we wanted to go first opened at 4 a.m. and had we gotten there at 3:30 as we'd planned we would have been out of luck for what we came for!
We don't always go out on Black Friday. We didn't last year. It kind of depends on what's on the kids' Christmas lists. Each year we get the kids one "big" gift each. Funny, each year the big gifts keep getting bigger! This year we had 2 more of the big gifts we wanted to knock out so we went out. Actually, compared to 2 years ago this Black Friday was relatively tame. Now, if you know me, you know I have very little tolerance for stupid. Or slow. Or anything that will threaten to harsh my mellow. I'm a ray of sunshine, huh? ;) But today, even in my lack of sleep state I made it without losing my mind! Even at Wal-Mart. Uh-huh, that can be the REAL test, right?! We got a lot crossed off our list. Oh, I'm sorry this year that would be a spreadsheet! Yeah, Wayne loves his spreadsheets and when I asked to see the lists, he presented me with a spreadsheet. And he explained to me that it should have been in color if onlyh he'd been able to print it on a color printer.
Anyway, I hung in very well until we got to Costco to pick up an item that was on sale for our soon to be birthday boy. What I didn't realize was that this was an online only item. ((sigh)) So we left without that, but we did pick up some wrapping paper and a fresh, Christmas-y smelling wreath. The notable part about this stop is that this is where my patience stopped as well. Now I didn't completely lose it. I simply told Wayne, this was the end of the line for me. I had reached my limit. Let me explain why, as best I can. Because frankly I don't even understand it myself. I preface this by saying that if you're a member of Costco (which you should be, it's AWESOME, way better than Sam's), it can be a little chaotic on even a normal day. But today, there must have been some kind of unbelievable deals on taro chips and all things macadamia. Not being a fan of taro chips myself, I don't know how much they normally cost. But OMG, you would have thought these were this was the last shipment of taro chips EVER!! People had bags and bags of them in their carts. And Carmacs and every other kind of macadamia candy. I'm sure there is a good reason for all of this insanity that I'm just not privy to. All I'm saying is that THAT is what pushed me right up to the front of the line where my toes were dangerously close to crossing over the line into that scary place where I lose my temper. So we bought our wreath, wrapping paper, case of water and left. No harm, no foul.
Thirty short minutes later and I was happily snoozing away, where I would stay for the next three hours. I'm convinced that without the help of some type of sleep aid, I am only capable of sleeping in spurts of 3 hours. Let me just say that that sleep was...((sigh))...so nice. Is it possible to be deliriously happy when you're asleep? Because if so, that is when I'm in my BEST moods!
You know, what I think I'll try to go back for another good mood! Just because I can.
But I'll leave you with a cute picture that Rhett-Rhett took Thanksgiving morning. Sweet Dreams!!
